Common Sense Gaming » Site Design http://www.commonsensegaming.com Play with it, not against it Thu, 19 Aug 2010 23:32:15 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0.1 Site Relaunch http://www.commonsensegaming.com/archives/43 http://www.commonsensegaming.com/archives/43#comments Wed, 22 Jul 2009 21:08:21 +0000 SSG CodeMonkey http://www.commonsensegaming.com/?p=43 Well, I guess I just got tired of working with the Joomla site and decided to port it over to wordpress.  That part of the site relaunch is done.  The previous articles have been moved over and those who had accounts to post have been setup on the wordpress site.  Next on the agenda is switching the forums to a SMF forum.  Right now they’re run on phpBB, which I was sorry to realize, gets hit with tons of spam bots registering usernames and posting spam posts.  Once that is done I think the site will be ready to open to the public.  The goal of this site is to have gaming reviews, articles, etc. written by fellow gamers–people we know and actually play the games with.

This site needs a new logo. You may have noticed the large, blank area in the top left part of the site. With my lack of artistic ability, I’m offering a free year of Xbox Live to the winner.

Rules of the contest are as follows:

Must include the name ‘Common Sense Gaming’ in the logo, whether as the main part or as a subtitle.

Maximum of 10 submissions per person (I don’t want to get flooded, so take your time and make them good).

Submissions must be in PNG image format with transparent background (I don’t want square logos)

The maximum size for the logo is 450×100 pixels.

Entries cannot contain copyrighted material.

Entries will be judged on uniqueness, relevance, and ‘awesomeness’.

Deadline for submissions is March 31, 2009, 11:59pm.

Winning submission will become the offical CSG logo for a minimum of a one year period.

Prize is 1 year Xbox Live (Pre-paid card)

Contest is open to any US resident (The card I bought is only usable in the United States)

Decision on winner will be made within 2 weeks of contest ending.
