While I may not be the biggest MMO gamer, I can appreciate that a lot of people out there are. Mainstream media still considers gaming a habit for the socially dysfunctional and gamers to be some sort of lower caste. Yesterday, the independent gaming video series, The Guild (based on a group of MMO gamers), released their music video and mp3 for ‘Do You Wanna Date My Avatar’ on iTunes and Amazon. Surprisingly (or not if you consider there are 11 million+ WoW gamers out there) the video jumped to #1 in the iTunes video download charts and #1 on Amazon for mp3 sales. For something gaming related, yet not a game or expansion pack, to dominate a market like this is right is just amazing.
